Stronger

This is  short video to show what I've been up to in Colorado this mid November.  I've been trying to get back on my snowboard after breaking my neck this summer.  Thanks to Diana Sciandra Distrola and ShredBetties.com I was able to pull this footage together in a few days.

Back on Snowboard

For those of you that don't know who I am, my name is Randa Shahin.  I have been snowboarding on Mt. Hood for that last 6 years and have had my fair share of snowboard trips around the U.S. and overseas. This past June, I broke my neck over shooting a jump.  It was the first day of the summer and my last day of the summer.  I had to wear a halo on my head for 4 months.  Thankfully, the halo came off my head Oct. 15th.  Now I'm shredding it up in Colorado. Colorado appealed to me because they usually have a good early season jump start.  I wasn't sure what the stability of my neck would be so I expected to just ride around and appreciate being on a board.  Amazingly, I am doing way better than I expected.  I have been able to stomp most of my stock tricks on rails and even learned a new trick today.  It's official, I'm back in the game. My goal is to be 100% by the first of the new year.  At this rate, maybe even sooner.  Thank you to all of my friends, family, and sponsors that have supported me through my injury.  Something so traumatic turned out to be a positive experience in my life.
